Welcome to the 6-Week Challenge at Newport Fitness!
We are excited to get your health and fitness journey started!

Below is a lot of helpful information about the challenge and the gym. Please be sure to complete the homework items and read all details prior to your first class.

PRE-CHALLENGE HOMEWORK
Step 1: Download and Sign Into the StreamFit App.

Step 2: Click on More, Then Your Name at the top. Please add a pic (Optional) and update any other pertinent info such as your birthdate and emergency contact & instagram handle (optional).
​
Step 3: Click on More, Choose payment methods. Please add a payment method if you plan on purchasing any retail items throughout the challenge.
​
ORIENTATION INFO & BASELINE WORKOUT (OPTIONAL TO ATTEND)
The orientation will count as your first class. We will do the baseline workout, InBody Analyzer Body Fat Analysis, as well as go over some administrative items. If you can't make the orientation, no worries! It is optional. This website info covers everything you need to know as far as the administrative items. You can make-up the baseline workout by attending ANY Em's Fitcamp class the first week of the challenge. Just let the trainer know that you need to make up the workout at the start of the class. You will do the baseline workout in place of the regularly scheduled workout that class. You can have your body fat analysis done anytime (and as many times as you want) throughout the challenge. Please visit the front desk or ask a trainer before or after class to get this done.

* You can park in the attached lot, street parking or the large lot across the street. Please enter the door closest to the garage to get checked-in. ​​

Baseline Workout:
9 Minute AMRAP:
500m Row
40 Air Squats
30 Abmat Sit ups
20 Push ups

In remaining time, AMRAP Burpee
Scoring = Total #reps
Example: 500+40+30+20+# burpees
​
Be sure to submit this score as we will be repeating this the last week of the challenge. You can find the score submission spot on the 10/12 Challenge Orientation Class listed on your app.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR CLASS
Click on Classes (blue kettlebell), Select the class you want to attend. Hit Actions at the top and Hit Register.
​
To view your upcoming classes, visit the dashboard and Registered Classes at the top.
​
To view your past classes, Click on More, Results, then Workout History.
​
NOTE: You will receive a text from an admin each week either on Sunday or Monday to confirm your total class count showing in our system.

CrossFit* (see info below)

*NOTE: In order to attend the regular CrossFit classes, you are REQUIRED to first attend Beginner Crossfit. We will have TWO 2-hour Beginner CrossFit Classes available on Monday, 10/14 from 6AM - 8AM and 7:15PM - 9:15PM. These are the ONLY Beginner CrossFit classes we offer throughout the challenge. However, If you are unable to attend these, you can schedule FREE private session(s) that fit your schedule using the link below.

* You must complete ONE (2-hour) class or private session OR Two (1-hour) private sessions to attend Regular CrossFit
​NOTE: The 2-hour beginner class or 2-hour private session does count as 2-classes.

How do I schedule Beginner CrossFit?
​
If you want to attend one of the beginner CrossFit classes available on Monday, 10/12, please use the app to sign-up as you would any other class.

JOIN THE STREAMFIT (APP) CHATS!
​A fun part of our app is the Chats! This is a fun way to engage with your fellow challengers and the rest of our gym community. We have already added you to the Challenge Chat, but feel free to join the other class specific chats (CrossFit, Fitcamp and Boxing Chats).
​
We will use the challenge chat to communicate any important info about the challenge (in addition to emails and texts), but we strongly encourage you to post in there any questions you have, shout outs, thoughts on your workouts, etc.!

HOW TO VIEW THE DAILY WORKOUTS AND TRACK MY SCORES
To view the workout, click on any class within the app and the associated daily workout will appear. On each section of the workout, there is a blue "ACTIONS" button. Under the Action button, click Results and there you can enter your workout score OR amount of weight lifted.
**PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO POST YOUR WORKOUT SCORE EVER. THIS IS OPTIONAL. THERE IS ALSO AN OPTION TO POST AND KEEP IT PRIVATE.**
If it says "AMRAP" - that means As Many Reps as Possible" - so you would enter the total reps completed with the workout. Other workouts will have you enter the time it took to complete.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY TRAVEL OR ILLNESS DATES TO EXTEND MY CHALLENGE?
We will extend out your challenge for any travel or illness that occurs within the challenge to ensure you have the full 6-weeks to hit the goal. THIS MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO YOUR TRAVEL or alerted at the onset of your illness or injury. Proof will be required for anything submitted after the fact such as a doctor's note or plane ticket.
