Letter from the Owner
March 16th, 2020
Newport Fitness Members,
I am now being forced to address the financial effects COVID-19 is having on my small business. As stated before, we will not be closing unless it is mandated by the government. We are taking every precaution we can as far as cleaning, disinfecting and structuring workouts to avoid exposure. The specifics are included in the March Newsletter and the facebook page.
We will be allowing people to place their membership on hold for a month if they do not feel safe coming. NOTE: Should a decent amount of members do this, it will have severe effects on being able to keep this business running in the future. I am asking sincerely to those who are not suffering financial hardship to allow us to continue to run your next scheduled payment as is and we will extend your contract or monthly membership out for one month. We also ask the same of people should we be forced to shutdown. We will add an extension to your membership of the time frame required by the shutdown.
We are also offering a discount of 20% to anyone who wishes to pay for a year upfront. Again, we will extend this to 13 months should you wish to not attend during the next month. We will have a contract to sign to ensure you will be refunded in the unlikely event of the business closing within the year time frame.
We are in the midst of launching an online class that will be available next week via the Newport Fitness app. I will be leading a daily warm-up, coaching technique and will have timer & music running on the app to keep you moving. Should we be required to shut down, we will allow people to rent equipment for a small fee to bring home with them for use during this period.
Thanks for your understanding during these difficult times.
