How long have your been doing FitCamp? I started FitCamp in 2017 when Emily started it up.
What made you decide to try FitCamp? I had been personal training with Emily since January of 2016, with the ultimate goal of starting CrossFit. My body said no to CrossFit, so I was excited to give FitCamp a go.
What did you think after your first workout? "That was no joke!"
What's your FAVORITE movement? Back Squats
What's your LEAST favorite movement? Used to be burpees, but has now been usurped by that dang bike!
Any advice for those just getting started on their fitness journey? Just show up - no matter what WOD the app is showing. Once you get moving, it's all so fun (while being so challenging), and you feel so good and so accomplished once it's over.
Would you like to give any shout-outs to other members or coaches? Of course, my co-member of the month, Kellye! And Coach Emily! Man, what she puts up with from Kellye and me, but she makes it challenging and fun at the same time, while always making me believe I can do more than I think I can. Coach Megan Moreland for the sunshiny personality and the boxing classes that kick my butt. And my Cuz, Coach Adam Seibert, who makes me laugh so hard while I'm suffering so badly in those classes. ;-) Truly, all of the coaches I've ever experienced at Newport Fitness are amazing! These are just my most frequent ones. Thank you all!
