Jamie has been a member of Newport Fitness since July 2018. Jamie has been attending Fitcamp classes consistently for the past year and has recently started beginner CrossFit classes. Newport Fitness Owner and Coach Emily Wagner said that "Jamie started with us on a Six Week Challenge and has been dedicated ever since. She has also made it a family affair bringing her husband and son along too. She gives it her all every class and we are so impressed with her improvement. Keep up the great work!" 1. What made you give Em's Fitcamp a try? I was trying to find something to lose weight, meet people, replace running and get healthier. A Facebook ad popped up and I decided to give it a try… I was SO nervous I almost didn’t go in when I arrived. 2. What did you think after your first WOD? OMG I LOVE THIS….closest thing to a runner's high without running. Then I thought, crap, I am not going to be able to move tomorrow ...I had to hold onto the side of the bed for the next few days to roll over, my abs (or lack thereof) were so sore. 3. What has been your favorite Em's Fitcamp memory so far? Completing Murph this past Spring with the whole gym (photo above is Jamie and her son Oliver after Murph) 4. What is your favorite movement? Jump Rope, Box Jumps and Burpees 5. What is your least favorite movement? WallBalls…I loathe them 6. Do you follow any specific diet? Macros from Fitcamp Challenges, tracking food in the My Fitness App to try to keep me honest. 7. What has been the biggest improvement you've seen from your training? Overall fitness and self-confidence. I ran up the steps at a Reds game and was surprised that I wasn’t winded or even out of breath. 8. What advice do you have for beginners? Keep at it. 9. What are your goals for the future? I want to be able to do pull-ups. After vacation to win the next challenge!! 10. Any shout outs...Go for it!! Megan, you told me the 8 year old girl in me could jump when I was afraid to jump on the low box and now I regularly jump on the 18” inch box, Raquel for telling me I can do unmodified push-ups and challenging me to do them, Stephen and Johnny for being great coaches and keeping me motivated during workouts. Emily for making the gym so inviting. All my Fitcamp friends...Especially those that did the Open, I love the friendships that I’ve made and we continue to cheer each other on.
